Stepping into the neon-drenched streets of Night City, the Cyberpunk TCG delivers an adrenaline-fueled tabletop experience that captures the raw grit and high-stakes strategy of the franchise. Developed by WeirdCo in official collaboration with CD Projekt RED, this TCG moves beyond traditional card game tropes by introducing dynamic economic tug-of-war mechanics and tactile crew management.

Players take on the role of Fixers, building formidable Edgerunner crews to pull off dangerous heists and seize control of the city’s underground economy. From its inventive win condition to its collector-grade production values, there’s a lot brewing under the hood of this release. Here’s why the Cyberpunk Trading Card Game is quickly earning a spot on the watchlist of TCG fans and Cyberpunk devotees alike.
1. Unique “Gig Dice” Win Condition & Tug-of-War Mechanics

Instead of standard life totals or simple prize cards, victory hinges on controlling Night City’s economy through Gig dice. At the start of your turn, you draw and roll a new Gig die (ranging from d4 to d12) out of your Fixer pool to determine its value.
To win, you must control 7 Gig dice in your zone at the start of your turn. Because rival Units can directly attack your Gig area to steal active dice, every match turns into an intense, dynamic tug-of-war where momentum can shift in a single turn.
2. High-Stakes Tactical Crew Management

Building your Edgerunner crew actually feels like orchestrating a high-stakes heist.
- Lag & Deployment: Units enter play with “Lag,” preventing immediate attacks and requiring strategic planning a turn ahead.
- Gear & Programs: You can augment crew members mid-fight using Cyberware/Gear or deploy Netrunner Programs at key trigger moments to turn combat on its head.
- Spent vs. Ready: Managing spent (tapped) resources forces tough decisions between pushing an aggressive raid or keeping defenders ready to protect your own board state.
3. “Call a Legend” Adds Thrilling Push-Your-Luck Gameplay
Every deck utilizes face-down Legends set aside during setup. You can spend Eddies once per turn to “Call a Legend”—flipping one face-up at random without peeking beforehand. This adds a built-in push-your-luck mechanic where unrevealed Legends can serve as immediate currency or convert into powerful, game-changing game text when flipped at critical moments.

This mechanic is already on display in the two Welcome to Night City Starter Decks. The Embracing Power deck runs Goro Takemura, Yorinobu Arasaka, and Saburo Arasaka as its three Legends, channeling the overwhelming corporate might of the Arasaka Corporation.
The Heist deck instead calls on V, Viktor Vektor, and Jackie Welles, favoring a subtler, more methodical playstyle built around low Street Cred and card advantage. With each deck offering a distinct trio of Legends to flip mid-game, “Call a Legend” gives every crew its own flavor of unpredictability.
4. Deep Multi-Media Franchise Integration
The TCG brings together elements from across the entire franchise. In the Welcome to Night City debut environment, players can assemble crews mixing iconic characters like V, Johnny Silverhand, and Jackie Welles alongside the cast of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners (David Martinez, Lucy, Rebecca).
5. Premium Card Quality & High-Rarity Collector Treatments

WeirdCo partnered with top-tier printing facilities (like RRD) to ensure high physical production standards right out of the gate. The game features:
- Durable, crisp cardstock designed to resist edge fraying.
- Custom illustrations from prominent TCG artists and CDPR creators.
- High-rarity foil treatments and alternate art variants aimed directly at collectors looking for standout binder pieces.
The game features a tiered rarity system with six main structural categories, plus a promotional tier: Common, Uncommon, Rare (booster packs guarantee at least two Rares or higher), Epic Rare, Secret Rare, and Iconic Rare (alternate-art chase cards), alongside Nova Rare promos distributed through official events and campaigns like the Kickstarter Lucy promo cards.

Following a successful crowdfunding campaign, Kickstarter backer rewards begin fulfillment on September 1, 2026, followed by Official Beta Events running September 10–17 to give early players and local stores a first taste of organized play. WeirdCo has already revealed over 140 cards in the official database for Welcome to Night City, with card tracking platforms gearing up their inventory tools ahead of launch.
A retail prerelease weekend hits local game stores on October 30, 2026, offering the first widespread hands-on access to the set. The game then arrives at full global retail on November 6, 2026, with booster packs, starter decks, and other products rolling out worldwide.
