New Leader Cards: Mentors & Mentees

OP-12 introduces six new Leader cards that embody the core theme of Legacy of the Master: the relationships between mentors and their disciples. On the mentor side, Silvers Rayleigh makes his debut as a Leader who once taught Luffy how to use Haki. His effect limits deck construction to cards that cost four or less, encouraging fast-paced, low-curve strategies. Donquixote Rosinante (Rosi), who played a pivotal role in shaping Trafalgar Law’s life, has a Leader effect that enhances synergy with Law cards. Koala, who secretly trained Nico Robin in Fish-Man Karate, focuses on high-cost character builds.

Representing the disciples are Kuzan (Aokiji)—a student of Garp—whose powerful card cycling ability has already drawn attention from competitive players. Sanji, raised by Zeff, and Roronoa Zoro, trained by the formidable Dracule Mihawk, also join as new Leaders. The Green Zoro Leader in particular is receiving early praise for both its competitive strength and stunning artwork. Each of these six Leaders features a standard version and a beautifully illustrated Alternate Art that pairs them with their respective mentor or student, making them some of the most visually compelling cards in the set.
Legacy of the Master Cards Chase
Legacy of the Master is packed with high-value collectible cards, and some of the biggest highlights come in the form of Treasure Rares, Manga Rares, and Anniversary Special Rares. The Treasure Rare: Sanji features a striking illustration of Sanji during the emotional wedding scene from the Whole Cake Island arc—a defining moment in the anime. This card isn’t just a visual standout; it’s also a strong inclusion in Vinsmoke Reiju decks, making it a must-have for both collectors and competitive players.

Another standout is the Manga Rare: Jewelry Bonney, which marks the first time Bonney has received a manga-style card. With background panels taken directly from her Egghead arc backstory, this card is as thematically rich as it is collectible. Finally, the set includes Anniversary Special Rares: Blackbeard, featuring Silver and Gold versions of OP-09 Marshall D. Teach. These ultra-rare cards follow in the footsteps of the Gear 5 Luffy Silver/Gold cards from OP-11—each valued at over $1000—and are expected to be among the hardest cards to pull in the entire set.

Legacy of the Master stands out as a set that offers something for every type of One Piece TCG fan. Collectors will be drawn to some of the most stunning and meaningful card art the game has seen, while competitive players will find powerful new Leaders and characters that have already proven effective in tournaments overseas.
For fans of the anime and manga, the set’s deep ties to ongoing story arcs and character relationships add an extra layer of enjoyment. Whether you’re building decks, chasing rares, or following the lore, OP-12 is a release that truly delivers on all fronts.
