Pokémon Delta Reign, the Mega Rayquaza ex expansion arriving on November 6, 2026, is competing for collectors’ budgets this fall with 30th Celebration, the anniversary special set that launched on September 16, 2026. Both are exciting, but they are very different buys.

30th Celebration is a nostalgia set with no booster box, and most of its products are already selling at 2.7 to 5.7 times their retail price. Delta Reign is a regular main set with a full product lineup, so buyers still have a real chance to pay retail.
Quick answer: if you want to open packs at a fair price, buy Delta Reign on or after November 6. If you love the anniversary cards, skip overpriced 30th Celebration sealed product and buy the specific singles you want instead.

Products and Prices
The biggest difference between these sets right now is price. 30th Celebration products are trading far above MSRP, while Delta Reign is still preorder-only, with most shops asking above list.
30th Celebration: MSRP vs Market Price

Market prices are TCGplayer market prices as of September 24, 2026. A single 30th Celebration booster pack sells for about $17.61, almost four times the $4.49 price of a regular Delta Reign pack.

Delta Reign: MSRP and Preorder Prices

Delta Reign has not released yet, so there is no settled market price. List prices come from distributor pricing published in August 2026. Preorders are already running hot: GameStop has taken Elite Trainer Box preorders at $90 (80% over list), and some online shops list the Booster Box between $249.95 and $279.99. These prices usually settle closer to MSRP once the set is on shelves.
| Product | Packs | MSRP | Per pack | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Booster Box | 36 | $161.64 | $4.49 | Best for big openers |
| Booster Bundle | 6 | $26.94 | $4.49 | Same per-pack price as the box |
| Elite Trainer Box | 9 | $49.99 | $5.55 | Only way to get the Kyogre promo |
| Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Box | Extra packs | $59.99 | Pokémon Center exclusive | |
| 3-Booster Blister | 3 | $13.99 | $4.66 | Includes Seel promo |
| Build & Battle Box | 4 | $21.99 | $5.50 | Prerelease kit, retail on November 20 |
Which One Should You Buy?
- Pack openers: Buy a Delta Reign Booster Bundle or Booster Box. At MSRP they cost $4.49 per pack, compared with about $17.61 for a 30th Celebration pack.
- Nostalgia collectors: Buy 30th Celebration singles. Sealed product sells at 2.7x to 5.7x retail, so buying the exact card is cheaper than chasing it.
- Rayquaza fans: Buy Delta Reign singles after release. The Mega Rayquaza ex cards are rare pulls, and singles usually get cheaper a few weeks after launch.
- Gift buyers: Buy a Delta Reign Elite Trainer Box or 3-Booster Blister. Both are fairly priced at retail and include promos and accessories that make a nice gift.
- Players: Buy Delta Reign. It’s a regular set with new ex cards and Legendary Stadiums, while 30th Celebration is mainly a collector set.
- Display collectors: Buy the 30th Celebration Poster Collection or Mini Tins. The themed packaging and promos look great, as long as you accept today’s markup.

Our pick: Delta Reign is the better value for most buyers this season. 30th Celebration is a beautiful set, but at current prices it rewards patience: wait for prices to cool, or buy singles.
Heads up for November 6: the 30th Celebration Ultra-Premium Collections, Figure Collections and Ditto Premium Collection release the same day as Delta Reign. Decide which one you want before that morning, because both will sell fast.
Buying Tips
- Don’t overpay for preorders. A $90 Delta Reign Elite Trainer Box is $40 over list. Prices usually drift toward MSRP once supply arrives.
- Go to a prerelease. Events run October 24 to November 1 at local game stores, and a seat costs roughly $25 to $35 for a Build & Battle Box, packs and a night of play.
- Check your local league’s early release. Eligible leagues can sell Delta Reign from November 2, four days before launch, at list price.
- Buy singles for the card you want. Opening sealed product to chase one card is almost always the most expensive route, for either set.
- Want Rayquaza now? Japanese Storm Emeralda cards are already on the market if you don’t want to wait for the English release.

Pokémon Delta Reign, the English version of Japan’s Storm Emeralda plus about 30 cards from the MEGA Starter Decks, releases on November 6, 2026, with prerelease events from October 24 to November 1 and the Build & Battle Box reaching retail on November 20. If you just want to open packs, the Delta Reign Booster Bundle is the cheapest way in at $26.94 for 6 packs, the same $4.49 per pack as the Booster Box.
